As with a shroud, when they are used in conjunction with with a board underneath for rigidity, they can be a quick, easy and low cost solution for body disposition. They come in a variety of colours, can be lightweight or heavy duty and can be made from numerous materials. Accepted by most crematoriums and burial sites, it may be wise however to check with them first, and make sure that the bag you purchase is suitable for the disposal method you choose (biodegradable if being used for a woodland burial – not made from toxic plastics if used for cremation).
