There is a peaceful garden of remembrance at the crematorium with a number of flowers, trees and shrubs. After the cremation, you will be handed your loved one’s ashes in an urn which may be scattered at the garden of remembrance or elsewhere. Ashes may also be buried in a cremated remains plot or a family grave plot, and a bronze memorial plaque can be used to honour your loved one’s memory.
Flowers and tributes may not be placed in the gardens, but instead can be left in the book of remembrance room. The room is open all days of the year and is a peaceful space for families to remember their loved ones in privacy. Friends or family can choose to dedicate an entry into the book of remembrance which is a long lasting and personal memorial to the person who has died. Top quality memorial cards and miniature books of remembrance can be created and directly sent to families as a person tribute.
Various types of memorials are available to purchase via Northumberland County Council and include memorial headstones and fixed vases. Please get in touch with the team for more information on memorial options, to book a funeral service or for additional information.
Blyth Crematorium also has disabled and wheelchair access as well as toilets on-site.
