Stockport Crematorium and Cemetery

Stockport Crematorium was opened in 1934 to serve the local community in and around Stockport. The friendly staff are at hand to support families in arranging a personal and unique cremation funeral to commemorate their loved one’s life.

There are two serene and uplifting chapels – the Rowan chapel and the Cypress chapel – at the crematorium grounds where a dignified funeral service can be held. Families can choose to hold a short committal or have the full service held at one of the chapels during weekdays or on a Saturday.

Each chapel seats about 90 guests and is equipped with modern facilities including a sound system which can relay the service to those standing outside and webcasting services. There is an extensive choice of funeral music available, and the service can be broadcast to those family and friends who cannot attend. There is also the option to purchase a CD/DVD recording of the service as a keepsake. There is disabled access and a loop system for the hearing impaired.

The well-maintained garden of remembrance has rose bushes and offers a tranquil environment for the bereaved family to spend time reflecting on the life of the person who has died.

The grounds are open all year around. Please get in touch with the team to book a guided tour or to enquire about facilities or memorial options. Car parking is available at the premises.

The crematorium is open from Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 4:30 pm and on Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm. Car parking is available at the premises.
